Chester V. Mayo Jr., D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Chester “Chet” Mayo was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia, and received his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. He then attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he entered a general practice residency (GPR) in Richmond, Virginia through the VCU Health System. This two-year residency, primarily based at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, provided Dr. Chet Mayo with advanced training in all facets of dentistry.
During his time in Richmond, Dr. Chet Mayo became further interested in the specialty of endodontics. Following his GPR, he and his wife moved to Portland, Oregon. He attended Oregon Health & Science University for two years where he earned his Certificate in Endodontics, as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and is an active member of the Tidewater Dental Association.
Dr. Chet Mayo now lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and daughter. During their two years in Oregon, they loved being outside, and still enjoy a variety of outdoor activities from hiking, camping, and backpacking to kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.
